UPDATED: Sheriff's Office leads search for missing 12-year-old boy

UPDATE (May 24, 3:30 p.m.) -- BOY LOCATED

Malic Martinez, 12, was found safe this afternoon.

Thanks to all search partners who helped and citizens and media outlets who helped spread the word.


EARLIER (May 24, 5:05 a.m.)

Malic MartinezClackamas County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue deputies are currently looking for 12-year-old Malic Martinez. His photo is linked above.

Malic was last seen leaving his residence in the 58000 block of Highway 26 near Brightwood, OR at approximately 4 p.m. yesterday (May 23, 2017). Malic was seen headed south from his residence into the woods behind his home.

Malic was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, black or gray gym shorts and black Nike track shoes, carrying an unknown color backpack.

Malic has no wilderness survival training and is not equipped for cold overnight temps. Malic's family believes he may be attempting to go to Sandy.
