At approximately 4:37 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery outside of an apartment in the 2300 block of SE Courtney Rd. in Oak Grove.

Deputies learned that the victim was familiar with the suspect from previous social contacts. The suspect had approached the victim. After a brief encounter, the suspect drew a firearm and stole property from the victim. The suspect then left the scene in a dark-green sport utility vehicle.

The investigation led deputies to find the suspect vehicle in the area of SE 68th Ave. and Rhone St. in Portland.

A search for the suspect by the Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) led to the arrest of a juvenile teenage suspect by Portland Police. For more information, see PPB's press release on the incident.

The firearm believed to have been used by the suspect in the robbery was located by an alert citizen and has been recovered by the police.

The suspect's name is not being released at this time. The suspect has been lodged with juvenile authorities.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office violent-crimes detectives continue to work on this investigation, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Additional arrests are possible.
