Training the HRD K9
(Mack Reid; Friday, Oct. 16; Saturday, Oct. 17; Sunday, Oct. 18)

Students will require personal protective equipment in case of exposure to cadaver training aids. Dogs have been known to pick up a training aid, drag the leash through cadaver material, and or walk through contamination -- all of which will necessitate field cleaning to reduce contamination and exposure to other equipment and personnel. Because of this, all cadaver detection dog handlers should, at a minimum, carry:

  • Exam gloves
  • Field hand cleaner/sanitizer
