The Juggling Act -- a Workshop for Family Caregivers

Why: To learn about resources available to help caregivers; to network with other caregivers; to nurture yourself

Who Cares for the Family Caregiver?
Caregivers in our community assist friends, relatives and loved ones with everything from daily tasks to more complex health-related interventions like medication administration and wound care. While many caregivers will tell you that their role is rewarding, they will also tell you that caergiving is neither for the weak nor faint of heart.
Did you know?
- Approximately 80% of homecare services are provided by family members
- 69% of family cargivers have suffered from prolonged depression
- Few caregivers seek prompt medical attention for their own problems
- 78% feel their own physical and emotional health suffered as a result of the intense demands placed on them in the caregiving role
- Each year, U.S. companies lose $11.4 - $29 billion duer to work schedule adjustments and employee health issues associated with caregiving
