Developmental Disabilities Services staff are committed to respecting and maintaining the health, safety, and dignity of all people served.Who We Serve
Adults and children who live in Clackamas County who are eligible for services due to developmental disability.
A developmental disability is a neurological condition that primarily affects the brain. It originates in childhood and significantly impacts adaptive behaviors or everyday living skills such as mobility, communication, self-care, going to school or work, and making choices.
Developmental Disabilities include mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy or other neurological disabling conditions that require training or support similar to that required by individuals with mental retardation.
What We Do – Services
- Case Management:
Our Service Coordinators are navigators and gatekeepers of DD services who can help with:
- Accessing programs such as Oregon Health Plan, SSI, food stamps and local resources and assistance programs
- Monitor services and supports to assure that needs are met
- 24-hour group home services for adults and children
- Foster care services for adults and children
- Crisis-diversion Family support
- Protective Services:
- Protection of vulnerable adults & investigation of abuse
- Removal from current placement if requested for protective services reason
- Training to staff, families and individuals on how to identify and report abuse and neglect.
- Community and Planning:
- Assess, plan and advocate for services to meet the needs of Clackamas County citizens with developmental disabilities.
- Participate with communities, families, and other organizations to enhance public awareness.
