STARS Classroom Facilitator training begins in October!
Volunteers are trained to mentor and support teen leaders in STARS (Students Today Aren't Ready for Sex) classroom presentations. STARS facilitators assemble instructional materials for each STARS session; collaborate with classroom teachers address issues that arise; and evaluate/coach performance of the teen leaders. Training provided by the Office of Children and Families at no cost. Commitment is 5 weeks.

- Healthy Start
Volunteers provide support and resources to parents with infants as hospital visitors, playgroup coordinators and childcare providers for parenting support groups. Wendy Hays 503-655-8234 - Transportation Reaching People (TRP)
Volunteers drive their own cars or agency vans to provide rides for medical appointments and errands to older, disabled or rural residents. Sandy Yeaman 503-655-8604 - Travel Training

Bill Payer volunteers assist others who need help with budgeting, balancing checkbooks, or bill paying. More complex money management assistance is offered by trained Representative Payee volunteers. Karen Hohman 503-655-8574 - Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA)
Volunteers help elderly and disabled citizens with information or billing questions related to Medicare and supplemental health insurance. Extensive training is provided. Cindy Zimmerman 503-655-8427 - Medication Education
