Program/Service Notes:
Community center providing a variety of services and programs including: Meal Program: Provide lunch program four days/week (Tuesday-Friday), including home-delivered meals to residents of Oregon City, West Linn, Beavercreek, Redland and Carus. Transportation: Pioneer Center van provides rides to persons who are 60+ or disabled residing in the urban growth boundary of Oregon City, West Linn, Beavercreek and Redland. Rides can be provided to areas in Oregon City, West Linn, and Gladstone. Transportation for personal needs, medical appointments, shopping, and to/from Center 9:45am - 3pm, M-F. Call at least the day before and up to a week ahead to schedule a ride. Suggested donation of 50 cents per ride. Support Groups include: Breast Cancer, Alzheimer's, Grief, Diabetes, Men and Grief . Offered though Community Health and Education (657-6947). Health Screenings/Clinics: Blood pressure check, flu shot clinic, foot clinic, hearing aid check, and pedicures. Assistance with medication discount access and medical insurance available. Recreation programs: Classes, games, lecture series, trips, tours, crafts, exercise, music, dancing, dine out program, weight room, computer room and special events. Classes and activities offered on a regular basis. Information and Referral on community resources and referral to appropriate agencies. Senior Law Project: Provide appointments with a lawyer for free initial consultation concerning legal matters. Companionship: Provide Friendly Visitor, Senior Companions, telephone reassurance and emergency checks. Outreach: Home, office, and phone assistance to provide seniors with information and referrals to appropriate resources. Newsletter: Newsletter is available at the center or through the mail at an $8/year subscription. A page on activities/opportunities is published in the Oregon City News once a month. Parks and Recreation Quarterly Tabloid. Additional services include: Wheelchair/Walker loans, consultation on health insurance benefits, fuel and bill paying assistance information.
