Mission for the CCSD #1 Wastewater Site Steering Committee - April 6, 2007

Study Purpose
To recommend a preferred site for a new CCSD #1 wastewater treatment plant to the Board of County Commissioners and rank other potential sites in order of preference.

Site Study Objectives

1. To help implement the County’s Wastewater Service Objectives of:
1. To ensure that wastewater treatment services are provided when needed for public health purposes and land development activities in the County.
2. To ensure that all County wastewater treatment facility and services comply with all federal and State regulations.
3. To ensure that wastewater service costs are reasonable for the conditions and requirements for such services.
2. To find four or five sites that can be developed for a new CCSD #1Wastewater Treatment Plant serving the existing district and its wholesale customers and potentially can be expanded for other regional customers.
3. To involve residents of neighborhoods adjacent to the four or five sites in the evaluation and selection process for a new site.
4. To recommend a preferred site to the BCC no later than July 1, 2008.
