The New Clackamas County Web Site
Introduction
You have reached the Official Web Site for Clackamas County, Oregon. This new design was released in April of 2007. This page describes the enhancements to the site, and new features that were added.
Common environment In the past, each department and division of Clackamas County created and maintained individual web sites, with varying look and feel, and navigation. With the new design, navigating through each department will be much easier, providing consistent components. Finding information and documents will be easier than ever.
Enlarge the Text Users can enlarge the text on every page of the web site. In Internet Explorer 5, 6, and 7 and Mozilla FireFox, simply hold down the CNTRL button on your keyboard, and scroll the wheel on your mouse. If you do not have a mouse with a wheel, you can resize your text by going to View -> Text Size on your browser.
On Internet Explorer 7, you can also resize your browser by using the Zoom utility found at the bottom of the browser.
For Safari browser, simply hold down the CMD button on your keyboard, while also pressing +/- to adjust the text size.
Note: Due to the components on the County Home page, the alignment on the home page will become distorted if you enlarge the text. All other underlying pages should remain aligned.
Departments A to Z When looking for information or documents, you may find it easier to use the link at the top of each page titled Departments A-Z. This is a complete alphabetical listing of all departments and divisions within Clackamas County.
Note: When viewing the Clackamas County web site, you may visit a department or division with a different look to the web site. This is due to the fact that some departments and divisions have not yet been transferred to the new Clackamas County web site. We appreciate your patience as we continue the migration process. Thank you.
Tab Categories
On the Clackamas County home page, you will find a new feature called Tab Categories. You can focus your search for information by selecting a tab category. For example, if you are from out of town, and desire to find information related to recreation, you would click the Recreation tab. The site then displays a group of links related to only recreation.
At times, each category will promote a certain 'feature story'. These articles may range from helpful advice, resources, or even fun activities to be aware of. Visit frequently to take advantage of this feature.
County Calendar
New to the site is the county-wide calendar. Activities, important dates, and events can now be found from all departments and divisions, on one calendar. By clicking on the calendar, you are then provided with more options to search, filter, and sort through the various events. You may limit the information displayed with criteria such as year, month, and/or department.
Icons
Look for helpful icons throughout Clackamas County web site. These icons identify the type of document or multimedia pertaining to the content. This will help you know what to expect before clicking the content, such as launching Media Player or Acrobat.
