Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council (EDIC)

The Clackamas County Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council (EDIC) is a group of county employees from various departments and programs that discusses EDI issues and provides guidance to county administration and the Board of County Commissioners.

Clackamas County affirms as matters of principle the values of equity, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of County governance, operations and services rendered to County residents and the public at large.

The county defines equity in the following manner:

"Equity: Meet Our Need - When we all have the opportunity to meet our needs for well-being and achieve our full potential."

About EDIC

In 2012, the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners approved the Resolution Valuing Diversity. In this resolution, they affirmed support for the formation of these advisory councils: the employee-led Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council (EDIC) and the community-based Leaders for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Council (LEDIC). These advisory councils dedicate volunteer hours to creating, implementing, and advising on equity, diversity and inclusion programming and policy across the county.
