Pinwheels for Prevention ceremony to be rescheduled

Clackamas County's annual Pinwheels for Prevention ceremony will be rescheduled from its previously announced day and time (Tuesday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m.).

We will issue a corrected version of the original news release once the new day and time for the event have been confirmed.

The ceremony recognizes Child Abuse Prevention Month and the many county employees and community partners who provide services to children, parents and supporters to ensure physical and emotional growth and development.

During the ceremony, blue and silver pinwheels will be planted around the Circle of Honor as a reminder of the happy childhoods and bright futures that all children deserve.

This event is hosted by the county’s Children, Family & Community Connections Division. CFCC and its community partners offer a variety of children’s health, positive parenting and early learning programs including Clackamas Parenting Together and the Early Learning Hub of Clackamas County. For more information about these and other programs available to county residents, call 971-710-3985 or email sbutler@clackamas.us

Prevent Child Abuse America launched the national Pinwheels for Prevention campaign in April 2008. Since then, over 5 million pinwheels, the campaign’s symbol, have been displayed nationwide.
