Public invited to comment on amendment to regional funding for county projects

Clackamas County is proposing a reallocation of funds for county projects for the 2015-18 cycle of the Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP). Public comments on the proposed change are being accepted by Metro through Feb. 2.

Four Clackamas County projects funded during the 2015-18 cycle are impacted by this amendment:

  • SE 172nd Ave. planning (Foster Road to Sunnyside Road)
  • SE 122nd Ave. and 132nd Ave. (sidewalk connections)
  • Sunnyside Road (adaptive signal system)
  • Jennings Ave. (sidewalks and bike lanes from OR 99E to Oatfield Road)

The 172nd Avenue project is completed and came in under budget, so the proposal is to redistribute the remaining funds among the other three projects.

More information about the MTIP and the proposed amendment. Comments or concerns about the amendment should be submitted to Metro’s Pamela Blackhorse.

For more information about the county projects, members of the media and public may contact Clackamas County Transportation Planning Supervisor Karen Buehrig at 503-742-4683.
