Clackamas County will participate in the Pride Northwest Festival and Parade on June 16 and 17 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. The county will join other community groups, nonprofits, elected officials and staff of cities in Clackamas County and businesses from Oregon and Southwest Washington in celebrating and supporting the Portland metro area’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.
Since 2012, when Clackamas County Commissioners first adopted a resolution valuing diversity, county officials have fostered a welcoming environment for all who live, work in, and visit the county. In October 2015, commissioners expanded their prior resolution to affirm “the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in every aspect of county governance, operations and services rendered to county residents and the public at large” and establish “by example and leadership, the county’s commitment to these principles.”
This is the fourth year Clackamas County has participated in Pride Northwest.
Pride Northwest is the largest LGBTQ cultural celebration between San Francisco and Seattle.
