On July 30, Clackamas County will begin a multi-week project to reconstruct the portion of Dickey Prairie Road south of Molalla Forest Road that was damaged by a landslide in winter 2016-17.  One lane of the road has been closed since that slide took place.

The repair work will involve completely rebuilding a portion of the roadway, and will require a complete closure of the road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday until the work is complete.  No travel will be allowed during those hours except in case of an emergency.

The project is scheduled to be complete in early September.  The work includes:

  • Removing the damaged portion of the road;
  • Removing 210 feet of existing retaining wall;
  • Installing 2,400 square feet of a new, mechanically stabilized earth structure with a geogrid and gravel;
  • Paving, and adding pavement markings and striping, and
  • Adding guardrails.

People who would like to be on the email list for interested parties are asked to send their contact information to Community Relations Specialist Ellen Rogalin at ellenrog@clackamas.us.
