Clackamas County will resurface Verna Street from S. Elliot Prairie Road to the dead end in the Canby area from Monday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 24. Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday-Friday. There is a possibility of weekend or night work depending on weather and other conditions.
The road will remain open during construction, but there will be lane closures and delays of up to 20 minutes at a time. During the actual paving of Verna Street on Aug. 22, travelers can expect lane closures and delays exceeding 20 minutes. The website will be updated with these dates as the project progresses. Travelers will be assisted by flaggers and are asked to slow down and use caution near the work zone.
This road maintenance and safety improvement project is a part of the county’s pavement preservation plan for 2018. The project is funded through the county’s share of state gas tax, vehicle registration fees and commercial weight-mile taxes. Information on additional improvement projects can be found online.
