New openings on ABCs: Economic Development & Library District Budget

Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.

New ABC openings from the past week include:

  • Economic Development Commission: This committee has 2 openings, each of which carries a three-year term. Per the bylaws, the EDC will advise and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on matters pertaining to the support and growth of a balanced, sustainable economy within the county and cities within the County.  

The board is committed to balance and diversity of commission membership in the areas of geography, employment, interest, education and experience. Applicants from the traded sector business community with demonstrated leadership, commitment or expertise in business and economic development are encouraged to apply.

  • Library District Budget Committee: This committee has 3 openings each of which carries a three-year term. In particular, the county is seeking applicants with a background in finance and public library services.  The committee participates annually with the Board in receiving and reviewing the Library District budget.  The committee participates in budget meetings in the spring and approves the budget and District tax rate each year.
