Media release: Safety Street at Clackamas County Fair Aug. 13-17: Have fun while learning about safety

Safety Street returns to the Clackamas County Fair with a new makeover offering everyone the opportunity to learn about safety while having fun. 

Representatives from Clackamas County Traffic Safety Commission, Drive to Zero and Crime Prevention will be on hand daily from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. to provide vital safety messages, interactive fun and education.   

The Drive to Zero area will feature an interactive photo booth where people of all ages and abilities will be able to dress up and take pictures with traffic signs and safety messages, plus sign the new Drive to Zero Pledge.

Other special activities include the following.

  • Tuesday, August 13: Children’s Day – focus on child traffic safety and injury prevention with a host of guest safety professionals. Booths will be open from 10 am - 6 pm.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 14: Senior Citizen Day – Clackamas Fire District #1 will feature senior fire and fall prevention from 10 am - 6 pm. 
  • Thursday, Aug. 15: Sign the Drive to Zero Pledge with the Board of County Commissioners, 10 am at the Main Stage.
  • Wednesday-Friday, Aug. 14-16: Oregon Impact will teach how to safely install child protection seats in cars.

There will not be a driving course this year.

The County Fair is located at 694 NE 4th Ave., Canby, Oregon.
