Construction is scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 7 to repair a landslide on SE Aldercrest Road between Brekke Court and Thiessen Road. Clackamas County will continue to keep this portion of SE Aldercrest Road closed in the Milwaukie and Oak Grove areas until the repair is completed.

Work is set to take place from Oct. 7 to Nov. 8, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. There is a possibility of additional weekend or night work depending on weather and other conditions.

Construction crews will build a retaining wall and manage groundwater with a drainage system below the road. Clackamas River Water will also be on site to replace the existing water line.

The road closure and detour will remain in place until the repair is complete. Local traffic and emergency vehicles will still have access up to the work zone. Road closure and detour signs are posted. Travelers are asked to use the signed detour route and to use caution near the work zone.

The county initially closed SE Aldercrest Road on Feb. 14, 2019, when the landslide occurred. After a thorough investigation, the road failure was determined to be caused by groundwater seepage nine feet below the road surface.

Project updates will be posted online.
