In order for road improvements to occur, SE 84th Avenue will be closed between SE Sunnybrook Boulevard and SE Sunnyside Road in the Clackamas area, from 9 a.m., Jan. 10 through 5 p.m., Aug. 31, 2021, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The 84th Avenue closure will allow workers to stage equipment and materials for the project.
Though the area in between the driveways on 84th Avenue will be completely closed to all traffic, local traffic and emergency vehicles will be able to access the driveways and the sidewalks will remain open. Through travelers are asked to follow the posted detour route, slow down and use caution near the work zone.
Road closure updates will be posted at www.bit.ly/roadClosures.
The closure is part of the two-year Clackamas Regional Center Mobility Improvements Project designed to improve safety and traffic flow for all travelers, including new sidewalks and bike lanes, restriped roadways, new traffic signals, I-205 bridge widening, stormwater facilities and ADA ramps. This project is funded through tax increment financing from the Clackamas Town Center Urban Renewal District. All work is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
