New openings on ABCs: Economic Development, Parks & Veterans

Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.

Individuals interested in these opportunities can apply online or via a paper form that can be obtained from the Public & Government Affairs Department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

New ABC openings from the past week include:

Economic Development Commission

This council has seven openings for business representatives, each of which carries a three-year term. Per the bylaws, the EDC will advise and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on matters pertaining to the support and growth of a balanced, sustainable economy within the county and cities within the County.   

The board is committed to balance and diversity of commission membership in the areas of geography, employment, interest, education and experience. Applicants from the business community with demonstrated leadership, commitment or expertise in business and economic development are encouraged to apply.

Parks Advisory Board

This committee has two openings each of which carries a four-year term. Council members represent the unincorporated areas of the county in advising administration and the BCC on matters pertaining to County Parks’ policies, management, development, acquisition, budgets and other significant matters related to park administration.

Veterans Advisory Council

This council has two openings each of which carry a two-year term. The Veterans Advisory Council’s fifteen members advise the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners and the Department of Health, Housing and Human Services on all matters relating to the provision of services to veterans, their families and dependents, ensuring that their needs are recognized and addressed in a timely manner. Veterans Advisory Council also makes recommendations regarding current issues affecting veterans, their families and dependents. Meetings are the 4th Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
