In order for road improvements to occur, I-205 will be closed at Sunnyside Road in the Clackamas area from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m., the nights of Feb. 20-21 and Feb. 24-25.
The closure will allow workers to relocate utilities in preparation of widening the Sunnyside Road bridge to add a 10-foot wide combined sidewalk and bike lane on each side and install a new bridge railing and LED lighting.
Travelers will detour using the I-205 on- and off-ramps at Sunnyside Road. Sunnyside Road will remain open during both I-205 closures. Travelers are asked to slow down and use caution near the work zone.
Road closure updates will be posted at www.bit.ly/roadClosures.
The closure is part of the two-year Clackamas Regional Center Mobility Improvements Project designed to improve safety and traffic flow for all travelers, including new sidewalks and bike lanes, restriped roadways, new traffic signals, I-205 bridge widening, stormwater facilities and ADA ramps. This project is funded through tax increment financing from the Clackamas Town Center Urban Renewal District. All work is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
