Due to COVID-19, the Housing Authority offices are closed and we are no longer providing computer access as stated on this notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The Housing Authority of Clackamas County has postponed its April opening of the Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 Waiting Lists.

The waiting lists will now open June 15, 2020 at 8 a.m. PT. The deadline to apply is 6 p.m. PT on June 18, 2020.

Housing Authority officials are expecting as many as 10,000 applications during this open period for approximately 2,700 spaces.

There are income eligibility requirements for those applying for the waiting lists. To qualify a waitlist, a household must not make more than the following percentage of the area median income:

  • 80% for Public Housing
  • 50% for Section 8
  • 50% for Clayton Mohr Commons (veteran’s housing)
  • 50% for Rosewood Station

Those eligible can apply online 24/7 during the application period online

The following information is necessary to complete the application process.

  • Email
  • Names for all applicants in household
  • Date of Birth
  • Social security numbers
  • Physical address
  • Mailing Address if different
  • Name and contact information for an advocate if you need assistance.

All unduplicated applications will be placed in a random lottery drawing. Approximately 1,700 applicants will be added to the Public Housing waitlist and 700 will be added to the Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 waitlist. Applicants will be notified whether they were selected or not within 90 days.

“The unfortunate reality is that we just do not have enough housing to help everyone who will apply,” said Jill Smith, Director of Housing and Housing Services. “We know it will be a challenging process with only 2,700 spots, but we hope that we can continue to grow the number of people we are able to serve.”

If you need assistance with your electronic application, computers and personal assistance will be provided at the following locations, Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. PT.
