Today Governor Kate Brown directed that Clackamas and Washington counties will remain in Phase I for at least another 21 days after Multnomah County enters Phase I. Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties will enter Phase II together as a region. Clackamas County Chair Jim Bernard offers the following statement:

“We understand that many are ready to return to normal life, get back to work, and gather with our friends, loved ones and community. It is understandable that some are disappointed that we are not moving into Phase II. Yet, we cannot ignore the increase in cases of COVID-19 and the alarming projections of how many more people would get sick if we continued into Phase II reopening. The health of Clackamas County residents remains our top priority. We continue to serve our residents and are working hard to prepare for Phase II of reopening. We believe that by working together our entire community can beat this pandemic. Please do your part to keep yourself and community safe and healthy.”
