Clackamas County Commissioners will host a special Town Hall on suicide prevention awareness and mental health resources on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The first part of this Town Hall will feature several presentations from professional mental health experts at the county. These presentations include:

  • Mental Health Awareness: Why it is okay to be having a hard time, and what #ClackCo/other support and resources are available.
  • Suicide Prevention Awareness: How to “Ask the Question”: Are you worried about a loved one and need help? This presentation relays what you can do.
  • Peer Support: Engaging in mental health or addiction recovery is sometimes easier when you have an ally that has been through it. #ClackCo’s peer support programs can provide that ally. This section answers: “What is peer support? Does it work and how do I access it?”

Prior to and during the session, attendees or interested parties will have the opportunity to email their comments or questions to for commissioners and the expert panel. Live calls over Zoom will not be taken, but the 24/7 Crisis Line is always available for those in need at 503-655-8585.

When emailing, please put “Mental Health Town Hall” in the subject line, and provide a name and area (if comfortable). Due to time constraints, comments will be limited, so please try to be succinct with your comments/questions.
