Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.

Enhanced Law Enforcement District Budget Committee
This board has three openings, each of which carries a three-year term. The District was approved by voters in the November 1994 general election and became effective July 1, 1995. Its purpose is to increase the level of Sheriff’s patrols to meet the increased demand of urban Clackamas County. It serves approximately 85,000 residents in the unincorporated areas of Clackamas County within the Urban Growth Boundary, as well as the City of Johnson City. The Enhanced Law Enforcement Service District Budget Committee generally meets during business hours, once a year in May/June. The date and time will be announced later. Candidates must live or own property within the unincorporated area of Clackamas County and within the Enhanced Law Enforcement District and pay the respective “County Law Enhanced” tax assessment.

Library District of Clackamas County Budget Committee
This committee has three open positions each with a three- year term. The five-member committee participates with the Board of Commissioners in the spring to receive and review the Library District budget and approves the budget and Library District tax rate each year. Information about the Library District can be found on the website.
The Library District service area includes all of Clackamas County except Johnson City. Residents in the service area who are interested in public libraries are encouraged to apply.

OSU Extension & 4-H Service District Budget Committee
This committee has three openings with a two-year term to serve on the Clackamas County Extension and 4-H Service District Budget Committee. The district was formed by voters in 2008 to provide annual property tax funding for local Oregon State University Extension and 4-H programs in Clackamas County.
The budget committee meets in March, April and May in preparation for a public hearing for the Extension and 4-H Service District to be held in early June with the County Board of Commissioners. Proposed budget documents will be ready for review by April 2023. Any resident residing within the district boundaries (all of Clackamas County except Johnson City) is invited to apply to serve on the Extension and 4-H Service District budget committee.
There are 3 openings due to term expiration currently and each is a 3-year term.
