Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.

Clackamas Workforce Partnership

Clackamas Workforce Partnership (CWP) is actively recruiting for members of our Board of Directors, specifically individuals representing Childcare/Early Learning Industry and Healthcare fields in Clackamas County. Potential members must have optimum policy-making authority within the entities they represent. CWP currently has 2 positions available in the public sector. 
 
CWP is a business-led workforce development organization dedicated to taking a leadership role in forging a strong and vital partnership between business and the workforce development community; fostering an accountable, market-driven and world class public workforce system. The CWP’s board of directors is made up of representatives from business, organized labor, education, economic development, community-based organizations, and local government. CWP’s mission is to address critical workforce, educational, and training challenges, and develop a skilled workforce that meets the needs of business and strengthens the local economy of Clackamas County. 

The Clackamas Workforce Partnership Board: 

  • Invests federal and state resources to increase business productivity and promote a quality workforce in Clackamas County; 
  • Convenes businesses and community stakeholders to increase awareness of and to develop strategies to address local workforce challenges; 
  • Directs the implementation of comprehensive strategies for services to youth with special emphasis on the linkage between business and education and the development of academic and workforce readiness skills; 
  • Promotes business involvement in the workforce system and assists businesses in meeting their recruitment and employee retention needs; 
  • Coordinates workforce activities with economic development and educational organizations in Clackamas County communities; 
  • Provides direction, oversight and support to job seekers accessing the public workforce exchange system.

Clackamas County Service District No. 5 Budget Committee

Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking two volunteers interested in serving on the budget committee for Clackamas County Service District No. 5 (CCSD#5). The purpose of this Committee is to review and ensure timely and cost effective street lighting operation, maintenance and installation for property owners within the lighting district.  The term is for three years. 

The Committee for CCSD#5 currently meets virtually through a zoom meeting twice a year between May-June. Experience and participation in an advisory committee is helpful as a base of knowledge for committee work, but not necessary. We are looking for members from diverse backgrounds, including race, creed, color, sex, age, heritage, national origin or income.

Emergency Medical Services Council

The Clackamas County Emergency Medical Services Council advises the Board of County Commissioners and the Public Health Division on matters relating to the ambulance service plan and pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS). This Council has eight vacancies beginning April 1, 2023. Each position carries a three-year term. The available roles needing representation are:

  • Governmental representative from the County as recommended by the Department of Health, Housing and Human Services
  • Commercial ambulance service provider that serves ASA in Clackamas County
  • Governmental agency which provides ambulance service in Clackamas County
  • Resident of Clackamas County
  • Basic life support Paramedic currently providing prehospital care in Clackamas County
  • Clackamas County Fire Defense Board representative
  • Representative of a city in Clackamas County
  • Medical Director to a 911 EMS provider agency in Clackamas County

Members of the EMS Council meet quarterly and discuss matters related to the organization and running of emergency medical services in the county, and considers proposals from members, guests, and related subcommittees. The Council then advises the Board of County Commissioners on these and other EMS related matters. Applicants that are part of a PSAP in Clackamas County are encouraged to apply.
