The Clackamas County Long Range Planning Program is developing its annual work program for the 2017-18 fiscal year (July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018). We are seeking input from residents, community representatives, agencies, County staff and other interested parties on projects that should be considered for the work program. The public is invited to attend one or both of the meetings listed above and provide suggestions or comments on the proposed program.

The proposed work program will be available online by Jan. 30, 2017.

Projects are included in the work program for a variety of reasons:

  • Changes in state or regional law;
  • Changes in the market or in a specific area of the county;
  • Enactment of new policy initiatives, or
  • Fine-tuning land use regulations to correct errors or omissions, to improve consistency, clarify text that is vague or unclear, and overall streamlining.

The proposed work program will be presented to the Planning Commission for review on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, and the public will have the opportunity to comment. The Planning Commission will work with staff to prioritize the suggestions in consideration of legal and policy implications, and limited Planning and Zoning Division resources.

The Planning Commission's recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners, which is scheduled to take public comment and act on the work program at its regular business meeting on March 16, 2017. Project recommendations that are consistent with legal requirements and the County's policy goals, but are unable to be funded for the upcoming budget year, may be carried forward for future consideration.
