New openings on Clackamas County ABCs: Planning, Design Review, Emergency Services, Workforce Partnership

Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.

New ABC openings from the past week include:

Applicants with an interest and/or expertise in land use are encouraged to apply. The commission meets monthly at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays in Oregon City. The application deadline is Thursday, March 10 at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Darcy Renhard in the Clackamas County Planning and Zoning Division at 503-742-4545.

Representation is needed from the all areas of the county. Knowledge and/or expertise in the developing and building of commercial properties are encouraged. Engineers, architects, and planners/designers are needed at this time. Meetings are held on Tuesday mornings at 8 a.m., as needed, in Oregon City. The council is comprised of eleven members representing all phases of emergency medical response, and reflects a balance and diversity of membership in the areas of geography, gender, interest, and experience. The application deadline is Thursday, March 3, at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Emergency Medical Services Supervisor Larry MacDaniels at 503-655-8256.

In addition to the county application, interested parties must submit a Clackamas Workforce Partnership application as well as a resume and a letter of nomination by a local business organization or local business trade association.   • Planning Commission: This commission has three vacant positions, all of which are four-year terms that begin on May 1. The commission reviews and advises Clackamas County Commissioners on matters pertaining to land use. Recommendations from the Planning Commission are made on the basis of requirements set forth in Oregon law, the county comprehensive plan and county ordinances. More can be found online.
  • Design Review Committee: This committee has three vacant positions, all of which carry four-year terms. This committee reviews applications to build structures in commercial, industrial and multi-family zoning districts. The committee provides review and guidance to the Clackamas County Planning and Zoning Division. More can be found online.
  • Emergency Medical Services Council: This council has three openings: one for a medical director for an EMS agency in Clackamas County, one representative of a commercial ambulance service provider, and one representative of consumers of ambulance services, each to serve for three-year terms. The council advises commissioners and the county Health, Housing and Human Services Department in matters relating to emergency medical response and ambulance services. More can be found online.
  • Clackamas Workforce Partnership: This partnership seeks two members for its board, each seeking a three-year term. The board helps set funding strategies in an effort to develop a highly skilled workforce that creates sustained economic growth and prosperity for Clackamas County by helping to meet the global demands of our local businesses. Currently, there are openings for representatives from business as well as labor and apprenticeship. More can be found online.
