The Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) are thrilled to announce that Damascus resident Katie Sherman, 14, is the winner of their first annual Teen Summer Reading Artwork Contest. Her piece exemplified the theme of "Wellness, Fitness, and Sports."

In addition to winning a $100 cash gift card, Sherman's original artwork will be featured in LINCC Teen Summer Reading program materials such as posters, fliers and social media posts.

"We had a great team of judges made up of librarians and teens from library teen advisory boards across the county" said Monica Smith, librarian at the Sandy Public Library. "It was challenging to choose a winner from the 44 great entries, but after careful deliberation, we chose Katie's creative and striking entry."

A copy of the winning entry is below.

There were also two honorable mentions selected: Hailey Cox of Happy Valley, and Erin Karl of Boring. Each will receive a $20 cash gift card.
