Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.

New ABC openings from the past week include:

  • Arts Alliance Advisory Council: This council seeks seven residents to serve three-year terms. The goal of the council is to keep the arts central to life in Clackamas County by supporting and promoting access to all aspects of art and culture in every community, developing programs to meet needs countywide. More on the Arts Alliance can be found online

Council members work with organizational staff and its board of directors to collaborate on programs and services. The council reflects and represents the diverse population and geography of the county. Applicants should have a strong interest and history of participation in art and cultural activities and be actively engaged with their own communities. Experience with county issues is desirable. The council meets quarterly on the second Thursday of March, June, September and December. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, May 4, at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Arts Alliance Executive Director Cheryl Snow at 503-720-0662.
  • Committee for Citizen Involvement: This committee seeks five volunteers to serve one, two or three-year terms. The purpose of the committee is to advise county commissioners and staff on the development and coordination of a public involvement program that promotes and enhances community involvement.

Members assist in the development of resources for the county's governance models (hamlets, villages, community planning organizations), provide county commissioners with annual updates on the program, and give input to the Planning Division on land use applications. The deadline for applications is Thursday, April 28, at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Amy Kyle at 503-742-5973.

Individuals interested in these opportunities can apply online or via a paper form that can be obtained from the Public & Government Affairs Department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.
