The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2014/15.
The Certification of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the twenty-first consecutive year NCPRD has received the award.
"This would not have been possible without the dedicated service of the entire staff of NCPRD. I also want to acknowledge the Board of County Commissioners for their support in maintaining the highest standards of public service in the management of NCPRD and to our citizen advisors who serve on the District Advisory Board," said Laura Zentner, CPA and NCPRD's Business Operations Director.
The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate others to read it.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
NCPRD is a service district of Clackamas County dedicated to providing exceptional parks and recreation programs, facilities and services. The District serves over 116,000 residents and manages more the 75 parks, trails and natural areas, including the six-mile Trolley Trail, Mount Talbert Nature Park, North Clackamas Park, Hood View Sports Complex, Milwaukie Center and Aquatic Park.
