For the 23rd consecutive year, both the Tri-City Service District (TCSD) and Clackamas County Service District No. 1 (CCSD#1) each received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
TCSD and CCSD#1 were honored for their comprehensive annual financial reports for the fiscal year that ended last June. The certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, representing a significant accomplishment by a government body and its management.
Both districts are managed by Clackamas County Water Environment Services (WES), which operates five facilities in Clackamas County that process more than six billion gallons of sewage each year.
"In addition to our unwavering dedication to protecting public health and the environment, WES employees are committed to being steadfast stewards of ratepayer dollars," said WES Director Greg Geist. "These latest honors reflect the consistency of WES staff in maintaining the highest quality of service while preserving the trust of our customers and stakeholders."
Both reports were judged by an impartial panel and deemed to meet high standards, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story."
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals.
