The public is invited to learn about concept plans for safe walking and biking projects in the Mount Hood villages area at a public open house scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, in the Lolo Pass Room at the Resort at the Mountain, 68010 E. Fairway Ave. in Welches.
Clackamas County is working with the community to plan safe pedestrian and bicycle options within and between Brightwood, Rhododendron, Welches, Wemme and Zigzag. The project includes development of a Safe Routes to Schools plan for Welches schools.
At an open house in April, the public reviewed and helped prioritize future projects to improve travel options for pedestrians and bicyclists, include crossing U.S. Highway 26. At the June 1 workshop, people will learn more about the top priority projects and plans for them moving forward.
People who can't make the open house are invited to view the Draft Villages at Mt. Hood Pedestrian and Bikeway Implementation Plan online beginning June 1.
