Looking for something for that special dog in your life?
Then don't miss the Clackamas Dogs Foundation's Hound-Me-Downs garage sale at the Oregon City Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. The market is located in the parking lot across the street from the county's Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.
A wide variety of gently-used items will be available, including dog beds, leashes, collars, dog crates, toys and jackets. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help fund the foundation's activities in support of Clackamas County Dog Services.
The foundation provides support and assistance to Clackamas County Dog Services in order to advance dog welfare in the county by sponsoring:
- Spay & Neuter Program: Low-income residents can have their dog altered to help reduce the risk of unwanted puppies in our community.
- Dog Training & Adoptability Program: Trainers help socialize homeless and stray dogs that are dropped off the shelter so that they can be adopted.
- Shelter Volunteers Program: Recruits and trains people to help at the county shelter with housekeeping, potty-walking, dog training and administrative support.
Clackamas County Dog Services provides a wide variety of services for county residents including dog licensing; sick, injured and emergency dog rescue; pet protective custody; bite investigations; quarantine of dogs that have bitten and are not vaccinated for rabies; inspection of dog kennels; and low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine services. The shelter is located at 13141 SE Highway 212 in Clackamas.
