Due to continued work to restore the embankment at milepost 6 on East Barlow Trail Road, a road closure will continue through Nov. 18 at 5 p.m.
From Oct. 31 through Nov. 18, the closure will be in effect 24/7 and affect emergency vehicles, local residents and all others. All traffic will be required to follow detour routes.
Though the road will open no later than the evening of Nov. 18, finishing work on the road will not completed until spring 2017.
The embankment was damaged by the Sandy River during storms in January 2011. The damage left approximately 360 feet of East Barlow Trail Road vulnerable to erosion and potential destruction in a future storm.
The $1.1 million project is funded primarily through federal emergency funds. Read more about the project.
