Starting Dec. 1, the Mt. Hood Express transit service is expanding bus service to better meet the needs of the communities and visitors to the Mount Hood area.
The Mt. Hood Express transit service is a public bus service administered by the county that serves the mountain communities along U.S. Highway 26, running from the city of Sandy to Government Camp and the Timberline area.
The service includes both the Express (limited-stop commuter service between the city of Sandy and Timberline) and the Villages Shuttle (local service between Sandy and Rhododendron).
- The Villages Shuttle will add weekends to its schedule, serving the community seven days a week. This is a permanent schedule addition, starting Dec. 1.
- The Express will add three extra runs to Government Camp and Timberline on weekends and peak holiday times for the winter season. These additional runs will start Dec. 3 and continue until the end of February.
These expanded services are made possible through grants from the Oregon Department of Transportation and with help from private partner contributions.
