Clackamas County will close SW Terwilliger Boulevard from 300 feet south of the Iron Mountain Trailhead parking area to OR Highway 43 beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5. The closure will be in place 24/7 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017.
The road will be closed to all vehicles, including local traffic and emergency vehicles. Detour routes have been established and posted.
The closure, which will extend north to Northgate in Portland, is needed as part of the city of Portland's SW Terwilliger Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, which is constructing 7,600 feet of eight-inch gravity sewer in Terwilliger Boulevard from SW Northgate Avenue to OR Highway 43. The new sewer will connect to the 30-inch Tryon Interceptor sewer, which carries sewage to the Tryon Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Lake Oswego.
