Clackamas County will close Eldorado Road at its southern intersection with Highway 213 the morning of Thursday, Jan. 18, by noon, because of cracks in the roadway that began growing over the past weekend.

Eldorado Road is located just east of Highway 213, a little north of Mulino, in unincorporated Clackamas County. A detour route has been established; all local residents are encouraged to use Union Hall Road as an option.

The widening cracks appear to be related to a large slide that is also impacting Highway 213 in the same area. The county will continue to assess the status of Eldorado Road to determine what action is needed to reopen the roadway.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is beginning some work on Highway 213 in the same area, to shore up cracks on that roadway. County officials will monitor Eldorado Road closely during the ODOT repairs to see what, if any, impact they may have. Eldorado Road is located uphill from Highway 213.

Detour signs will be posted and area residents will be kept informed about any changes to the status of Eldorado Road.
