The Canby Ferry, which has been out of service for several weeks for electrical and mechanical repairs, will be back in service beginning at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2.
Ferry service was stopped in late December after electrical surges resulted in a malfunctioning frequency drive. The drive was repaired, the cable and electrical lines were replaced, and a Coast Guard inspection is planned before the ferry reopens on Friday.
The ferry is open daily during the winter from 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The ferry's normal operating hours of 6:45 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. will resume on Saturday, Feb. 24, and continue through Nov. 17. The ferry will be closed on Monday, Feb. 19, for Presidents Day.
The Canby Ferry crosses the Willamette River between Canby and Wilsonville seven days a week except on major holidays and when the water level rises to 70 feet or higher.
