On March 12, the Clackamas County Planning Commission will meet to review and discuss land use and transportation long-range planning projects proposed for the 2018-19 fiscal year. The public is invited to comment on projects and listen to the commission's deliberations.
The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the county's Development Services Building at 150 Beavercreek Road in Oregon City. After public comment is concluded, the Planning Commission will discuss the proposed projects and recommend a final list. The Board of County Commissioners is expected to provide direction to staff on the 2018-19 long-range planning work program at a policy session scheduled for Tuesday, April 3.
People who would like to comment but are not able to attend the March 12 Planning Commission meeting are invited to send their comments by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 12 to Senior Planner Jennifer Hughes by email at email@example.com, or by mail or drop-off to the Planning & Zoning Division, 150 Beavercreek Road, Oregon City, OR 97045.
The list of projects proposed by staff was pared down from a longer list of 43 project suggestions that fell in several categories:
- Continuing projects from past years
- New projects suggested by the community or by a county department
- New projects suggested by long-range planning staff to support other ongoing county initiatives or priorities
The entire list is available online, or may be seen or picked up in the Planning & Zoning Division on the second floor of the Development Services Building at 150 Beavercreek Road in Oregon City.
Project suggestions were solicited from the public and other county departments in late 2017. Staff reviewed the suggestions, noted any legal and policy implications, estimated required staffing resources, and came up with the list of proposed land use and transportation long-range planning projects for staff to focus on during the 2018-19 fiscal year. The list was shared with the Board of County Commissioners at a work session on Feb. 27.
