Sheriff's Office arrests suspect on 24 counts of Criminal Mistreatment I after fire at Eagle Creek residence

Please reference Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Case #11-6284

Just after 10 a.m. on June 23, 2012, Clackamas County 911 (C-COM) was called with a report of a structure fire in the 30800 block of SE Judd Road in Eagle Creek, Oregon.

Dispatchers notified the Clackamas County Sheriffs Office as well as the Boring Fire Department because the residence had been caution-flagged after the owner of the house had made threats earlier in the week to shoot police if they came onto his property after learning he had multiple warrants.

Gary Hulse, age 71, was taken into custody without incident after a police operation and negotiation that lasted nearly an hour.

Gary Hulse will be charged with 24 counts of Criminal Mistreatment I in Clackamas County Circuit Court. The charges relate to a long-term pattern of financial crimes against his now-deceased mother.

Gary Hulse is being held on a $500,000 bail.

Boring Fire checked on the fire at the pump house on the property and found it extinguished.
