EARLIER: July 11, 2012, 4:02 p.m.

At about 1:07 p.m. on July 11, 2012, a resident in the 30300 block of SE Joette Drive in Boring, Oregon, called Clackamas 911 to report a serious one-car crash.

Boring Fire personnel arrived on the scene at about 1:12 p.m. and advised dispatchers and responding deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office the single occupant of the car was dead.

The black Lincoln Town Car was severely damaged during the crash -- hampering the investigators' efforts at extricating and identifying the driver.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time -- though witnesses report the car was traveling at a very high rate of speed.  It is unknown if alcohol was involved or if the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
