Days Inn Clackamas robbed at gunpoint; tips sought

On Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at 12:54 a.m., an armed robbery was reported at the Days Inn (9717 SE Sunnyside Rd, Clackamas). The suspect reportedly demanded money from the victim employee while armed with a handgun. He pointed the gun at the clerk, who was not injured, and then fled the scene.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Patrol deputies converged swiftly on the scene in search of the suspect -- who was reported by a witness to have fled in a white newer-model compact car.

A Clackamas County Sheriff's Office K-9 team also responded to the crime scene in an effort to track the fleeing suspect.

All immediate search efforts to locate the armed-robbery suspect failed.

This robbery suspect is described as follows:

  • African-American male adult
  • 20-25 years of age
  • 6' tall
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a black hoodie with a colorful emblem on the back

First-degree armed robbery is considered a Measure 11-type felony crime in Oregon.

This armed robbery event will be forwarded to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Detectives Division for further investigation.
