At about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, Happy Valley Police arrested Jeffery Gerald Jackson, age 41, of Happy Valley, on charges of ID Theft, Theft I, and Forgery I and lodged him at the Clackamas County Jail.
On Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, a victim reported to the Happy Valley Police that his identity had been stolen and used to take out a loan for a car purchase through Credit Concepts, Inc., a company is located in Clackamas. The victim discovered the theft of his identity when he went to buy a car for his company.
The suspect is accused of using his position at Credit Concepts, Inc. to give a loan to himself and purchase a vehicle from himself -- using still another person's stolen identity.
Happy Valley Police investigated the allegation and were able to develop suspect information.
Happy Valley Police discovered that the suspect was employed by Credit Concepts, Inc. as an assistant manager, and had been working there under the stolen identity of Troy Lee Evans for about 6 years.
The suspect is identified as Jeffery Gerald Jackson, age 41, of Happy Valley, Oregon.
He is currently lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on the charges of Identity Theft, Theft I, and Forgery I, with a bail of $45,000.
Jeffery Jackson will make a first appearance at Clackamas County Circuit Court on September 5, 2012 by video at 3 p.m.
The investigators uncovered at least 6 other incidents in which Jeffery Jackson allegedly stole identities to fraudulently obtain loans.
Happy Valley Police believe Jackson may have victimized other people by stealing their identities and using them to fraudulently obtain loans. Through his employment at Credit Concepts, Inc., Jackson had access to sensitive financial and personal information of many people.
