The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is searching for CLAUDIA JOYCE JOHNSON -- a missing 70-year-old woman reportedly suffering from dementia and other medical conditions.

UPDATE: Photos are attached -- include two taken showing the clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

A Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue operation has been activated, and one of our SAR Coordinators is en route to the scene. The initial call came to dispatch at about 1 this afternoon.

Mrs. Johnson was last seen in the trails near the Mt. Hood Village RV Park (65000 E. Hwy. 26, Welches) around 1pm.

Claudia Joyce Johnson's husband told deputies he and his wife were walking in the trails near the RV park when she disappeared while he had stopped to rest.

Mrs. Johnson reportedly suffers from dementia, but does recognize her name. It is unusual for her to wander off.

CLAUDIA JOYCE JOHNSON is described as follows:

- White female, age 70
- 5-foot-2
- Medium build
- Brown hair
- Last seen wearing a blue-and-grey sweatshirt, pink blouse, blue jeans
- Reportedly suffering from dementia, other medical conditions requiring regular treatment

Anyone with information on CLAUDIA JOYCE JOHNSON's whereabouts is urged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office at (503) 655-8211 or to call 911.

More updates will be released as the search develops.
