Armed robbery at La Quinta Inn; two employees tied up, suspect eludes capture; tips sought

At 4:15 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013, a man walked into the La Quinta Inn located at 8815 SW Sun Place in Wilsonville. Two female employees were setting up for breakfast. The man pointed a gun at the employees and then tied them up. He subsequently released one briefly and had her empty the cash drawer for him. He then took the money and the two employees' purses and fled the scene.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Neither employee was injured.

Members of the Wilsonville Police Department and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office converged swiftly on the scene in search of the suspect. All immediate search efforts by responding deputies failed to locate the armed-robbery suspect.

This robbery suspect is described as follows:

  • Dark-skinned male adult
  • 20-25 years old
  • Medium height
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a black ski mask, long sleeve shirt, and gloves.

First-degree armed robbery is considered a Measure 11 type felony crime in the State of Oregon.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating.
