Sheriff's Office responds to shooting death in Eagle Creek; shooting believed to be accidental

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting call in the 27400 block of SE Hwy 224. When deputies arrived, they found the body of a 22-year-old male in an outbuilding on the property.
Family at the scene who called 911 told deputies that the deceased male had told family members earlier that he was having a problem with one of his firearms.

Evidence at the scene indicates the deceased was working on the malfunctioning weapon to remove a stuck cartridge at the time of the discharge.
Sheriff's Office deputies and the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office are still investigating the incident. At this time, the death is believed to be an accident.
The male is identified as Alexander Keith Olenslager, 22 years old, of Eagle Creek.
