UPDATE (Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015): Body identified; Medical Examiner results still pending

Oregon State Police forensic scientists have identified the man found deceased on Feb. 2 in Mt. Scott Creek as Gary Norman Myers, age 61.

Family notifications have been completed.

Mr. Myers was last known to be living in the Clackamas area.

The Medical Examiner's Office is still awaiting further results.



EARLIER (Feb. 2, 2015)

Sheriff's Office at recovery sceneAt 8:50 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015, Clackamas County 911 received a call of a body floating face-down in Mt. Scott Creek, near the 7200 block of SE Harmony Rd.

Personnel from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Clackamas Fire District #1 responded to the scene. They located the body of an adult male, who was deceased.

The body was caught up in some debris in the middle of the creek. The water was 3-4 feet deep near the area of the body.

Members of the Clackamas County Dive Rescue Team recovered the body from the water. The body was turned over to the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office.

Investigators are currently working on trying to identify the male and determine how he died.
