Wilsonville PD arrests prolific tagger; additional tips sought

Booking photo: Tyler Segale, 19, of WilsonvilleWilsonville Police has arrested 19-year-old Tyler Segale of Wilsonville on seven counts of first-degree Criminal Mischief and 14 counts of second-degree Criminal Mischief.

Wilsonville Police opened up its initial investigation in April 2014, when the first report came in that someone had spray-painted the word "SMERK" on a wall in the City of Wilsonville.

Over the next 15 months, Wilsonville Police investigated 21 counts of criminal mischief in which the spray-painted tag "SMERK" was used.

The investigation led to the identification of Mr. Tyler Segale as the suspect. He was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail.

"Taggers" who spray-paint graffiti leave property-owners to cover the costs of repairs and cleanup. The City of Wilsonville Police and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office encourages you to report these and other crimes by calling 911 or the non-emergency number at 503-655-8211.
