Sheriff's Office investigates report of overdue climbers on Mt. Hood; climbers located

The two overdue climbers have safely made it back to their vehicle on their own. They are uninjured, and reportedly were delayed due to changing weather conditions on the mountain.

The climbers do not wish to be contacted by the media.

EARLIER: Nov. 30, 2015, 10:09 p.m.

On 11-30-15 at about 8:25 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office received a report of two overdue climbers on Mt. Hood.

The reporting party indicated the two climbers were expected to return from their climb "before dark," but have yet to check in. The overdue climbers are reported to be experienced climbers.

A Patrol deputy assigned to the call was able to located the climbers' vehicle at Timberline Lodge. Members of the Clackamas County Search and Rescue Team have been called out to assess the situation and help to locate the overdue climbers.

No additional details are available at this time. An update will be provided at about midnight, or sooner if additional details become available.
